PGA West Norman Course
The semi-private PGA West Greg Norman is the newest course at PGA West, runs 7,156 yards and was designed using all the knowledge Norman gained during his career on the PGA Tour. The Norman design is considered to be one of the most challenging layouts at PGA West, with rolling, narrow fairways bordered by desert areas that include wild flowers and thick, unforgiving desert brush.
The PGA West Norman course teems with purple, white and yellow wildflowers, while the mix of tall and short native grasses produce different shades of green running almost to silver. The grass covers just 60 acres of tight fairways that taper toward the greens with nine ponds covering 18 acres. The demands of this course are a challenge for players of all levels.

PGA West's Norman course was fully completed in May of 2000 with the desert-scaped, target-style layout by "The Shark" - Greg Norman. Not surprising, the Shark's masterpiece was built in a prehistoric ocean bed 40 feet below sea level which is now the territory of emerald green fairways, crushed white marble bunkers and deep blue waters. On the PGA West Norman, vibrant wildflowers are a stunning contrast to the surrounding crescent of terra cotta mountains, creating a golf experience like no other.
The PGA Tour has once again put their stamp of approval on PGA West by making the Greg Norman Course a co-host for the PGA Tour Pre-Qualifying Tournament in 2006 and 2007. The PGA West Norman also hosts The Prestige at PGA West, one of college golf's most acclaimed Intercollegiate Invitational events, drawing only top-ranked universities. The Norman sets PGA West apart from any other club in the world by adding yet another fabulous golf course style, a true desert layout, to be enjoyed by all.
